Small shot taken on Gwithin beach yesterday! – The weather was insane! So sunny, yet still cold as ever here!

Happy with the way this one came out actually! Lovely sunlight to play with though which always helps!

The prevailing bad weather is still with us, caught this from just outside my back door!

Fair bit of processing went into this, but as with my current trend at the moment of not moving it too far form reality, ive tried to keep it quite neutral, the colours have been boosted, sharpened and a couple of colour tints have been applied to it. Only the slightest exposure tweak was applied to the rose tip itself!

Overall happier with my processing – trying to get out with the camera more recently but uni work never allows me, almost shot my first roll of film however – so look forward to that and its failings soon!

Late one for the 52 Week Project this week, been Ill for the last 6-7 days so this has been the first chance Ive got out with a camera (besides baby photos yesterday -which are soon to come!!)

This shot, couldnt have happened any better if I tried, its an amazing morning (albeit freezing) the sun is fantastic, id just got back from taking my dog for a walk after seeing this tree FULL with these tiny birds! Literally full! Probably around 50 of them! It was crazy, luckily I had the 70-200, so I didnt have to let my dog get too close and I just sat there and picked up hundreds of action shots!

Chose this one as the lighting was just perfect, edited it quite extensively in the colouring stage, I love old vintage feels like this!!! Makes me happy when I can actually do it right!!

Anyway, back to the dull that is assignments! Have a good day!

Site Updated Further!

Updated the site again this week, there were still MASSES of errors, one of the biggest being the horizontal scrolling of the images on the portfolio style pages just wasnt working – a VERY big brain ache for me! CSS is not kind when one has had a headache for 6 days! Ha!

Anyway, from what I can tell, the whole site SHOULD be working now! Everything should be working in both Firefox and IE (Things were not) and soon enough I will go through and start changes the images on the site – NONE of them are saved for the web, alot look rubbish when resized as they are and ALOT look very scratchy where they have been saved for different purposes and without the internet in mind – again these WILL be fixed

Enough of the technical rubbish anyhow! Started shooting a roll of film this week – my first time ever in a film SLR – brought on by my new purchasing of a 35mm negative scanner Very excited to see how the shots turn out!

Re-editing Old Photos!

As the title says this is an old shot re-edited. Ive been doing this quite alot recently, realising just how poor my old editing used to be, and just how much more detail I take into account now!

I used to wip images together that were classicly ‘summery’ by using the temperature slider, a very rookie mistake on my part! They look so trashy now on reflection, sometimes I find that I look at an image for so long that it looses all appeal to my eye and in the end I just end up sticking with whatever looks good quickly just to get the job done. Something I can safely say, i do not practice anymore!!

Anyway, enough about my old failings, I think this one is alot better editing! Although the image composure is textbookly wrong, theres just something I love about her being dead center!!

New shoots being organised and shots being edited for the new website! Everything is coming together very slowly!!

Site Finally Finished!!

Its been a very long time coming, im probably one of the laziest people ever when it comes to tidying up and finishing odd jobs! My worst habit ever. But feeling sick from flu and unable to sleep, the last 3 hours have been wisely invested in finally fixing and finishing my website!

What I aim to do is update this regularly along with, flikr and facebook! This blog will form the basis of my musings and help share my photographic journey with you all!

New babys are the beginning of all things – Week 3/52

Some shots of my brothers new baby called Finn today! Caught him ona day when he was slightly grumpy and less than impressed to have a camera in his face I think!! (Although, he seemed extremely interested in the flash going off!!!)

Some really simple processing on this, and this week Ive really been trying to perfect my processing, making it simpler, less destructive to the timage and in general trying to dial down what I am doing to an image!

Really starting to get the feeling that images should be left alone a bit more, when I look back through the images Ive processed I get more and more aggrovated with the editing on them! Ive got hundreds of images Ive been meaning to upload to here, but everytime I go and look at something I get wound up by it! Perfectionist or what!! Anyway, back to assignments for me, whoever said Business Degrees were easy was a liar!!!

Getting on top of everything early this week, doing my weekly upload already!!

This is a little photo I took the other day whilst out and about, this is a shot of Nicole, my much better half, taken on yet ANOTHER sunny day! Unbelievable!

Still getting to grips with the 35mm, still loving it, getting used to zooming with my feet is the odd bit though!!

Spring sun – Week 1/52

Hey all

So ive decided to start a new project, one that I know I can definetly stick to this time, after my failed attempt last year at a photo a day, this however will just be a photo a week! Although, I will be updating photos in between each weekly photo!

So heres the first one, the obligatory picture of my dog that comes with any new lens!! First bit of decent sun we have had this year, so thought id venture out for a dog walk before settling down and starting my assignments and missing all the good weather!!

Still in love with the 35mm – Just finding reasons to take photos of anything with it at the moment!!!

A little snap I took a few days ago! I originally wasnt sure if I liked this shot or not, then by accident I turned it into black and white and it just came alive! Such a better shot than the colour alternative!! Funny how this happens sometimes!

Been in college all day helping set up a 36 hour lecture and creating the webfeed for it so it can be viewed online! Nothing but a nightmare today! – Check out www.cornishbigideas.com for information!
